Tired of Cancer B.V., founder of the Untire App, and the University of Groningen partnered together in a large study focused on cancer-related fatigue (CRF). The effectiveness of Tired of Cancer’s Untire App was studied in an international scientific study lead by Profs. Robbert Sanderman and Mariët Hagedoorn.
At baseline, the intervention group and the control group did not statistically significantly differ with regard to demographic and health characteristics. Average age was 55,5 years (± 9,8) and average fatigue 6,8 (± 1,6). Compared to participants in the control group participants in the intervention group experienced a significant larger reduction in fatigue severity from baseline to 12 weeks (interaction time*condition: F(3, 1933) = 4.440, p = .004) as well as a significant increase in Quality of Life on average (interaction time*condition: F(3, 1918) = 4.407, p = .004). The effect sizes were small to medium. Analyses show that the intervention effects did not depend on demographic or health characteristics.
